These images, inspired by a long journey through Greece and a reading of Robert Pogue Harrison's book, Forests: The Shadow of Civilization, intertwine the contemporary forested landscapes of my current home, the Piedmont of the Southern Appalachian Mountains., with mythic human figures from the origins of Western civilization.
